Some Concluding Words Pt.2
The starting point of this article was another article, written by Will Cooper for the New Media Age. There, he argues that tabloids need to rethink their writing style or otherwise, to start investing in paid search.
My counterargument was based on the explanation of the search process, as utilized by Google. While indeed web spiders search each given article and later index every word found there, the case of tabloids is not as harsh as suggested by Cooper. As was the case with The Sun, the paper used both nicknames and legal names. Even though its chances of being picked up by a search engine even in this case could be said to be smaller, another important tool in PageRank.
PageRank analyses popularity of each site, as “voted” by other sites (which link to it). Therefore the situation of tabloids could still be saved.
The argument of this article was that while Cooper seems to make an interesting point, the situation is not just as harsh as he suggested.
Interview with an Online Editor
The interesting thing about Crossroads is the fact that it used to be a print magazine and due to financial constraints later went completely online. This shift turned out to be very beneficial for Crossroads and its editor.
I talked with Sueli Brodin about Web 2.0, the future of News Online and constraints related to the online presence.

My future plans include taking a year off in between the Bachelor and Master programmes. I will be working in Warsaw, Poland. After this year I am planning to start a postgraduate study in London, and my dream university is Goldsmith’s in London.
